"Beyond Black and White" with UU Kent's Commissioned Lay Leader Christie Anderson As Unitarian Universalists, we say we want racially and ethnically diverse congregations. The claims by some white UUs to be colorblind with regard to race is not enough to attract people of color, and in fact can offend many. Explore the challenges encountered in creating an environment that welcomes racial diversity.

Stay after the service for a Chili Cook-off and Cake Walk Members of the congregation will bring in a pot of chili (and recipe) for the congregation to sample. Tickets will be $1 per sample, or $5
for unlimited sampling. Samplers will cast a vote for their favorite, and the winner will get a blue ribbon and her/his picture on the bulletin board.
The youth will each bake their favorite cakes we'll do a cakewalk for each cake, $1 per cakewalk. All proceeds go toward our Coming of Age program's trip to Boston at the end of the year.

Minister Theodore Parker said, “I do not pretend to understand the moral universe; the arc is a long one, my eye reaches but a little way; I cannot calculate the curve and complete the figure by the experience of sight; I can divine it by conscience. And from what I see I am sure it bends towards justice.” This Service kicks off our annual Guest at Your Table service, where we explore ways to help bend the arc of the universe toward justice.
